I am sick of paying premiums thinking I have cover only to find out that when I make a claim Im not
How can we, the consumer, get a policy that covers us for what we believe we are paying for and know that we are covered? I am so over paying premiums only to find out when making a claim that I have been wasting my money as what I thought I was covered for I am not
Insurance is one of those necessary evils: Insurance companies make money when people don't claim or when they can get out of paying a claim. So, they will do everything they can to find a way of not paying.
My dad always used to give me this guideline about insurance which I still follow. If you can afford the loss then don't insure. If you can't afford the loss then you need to insure. Of course there are also legal issues requiring you to insure for liability on auto and when there is a lien holder.
Other than that, all you can do is read as much of the policy information as you can and discuss certain situations with the insurance agent to see if they are covered. I think they are generally honest.

I ask these without a hint of sarcasm, because I genuinely want to know. This is your chance to educate a non-believer.1. If the Supreme Court upholds the mandate, what will happen to the people who don't have health insurance because they can't afford it? Will they just be forced to buy something...
