Is He a Fascist?

Wasp Tevya is at the Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, August 17, 2014. Our delightful and wise friend, Wasp Tevya, is at the breakfast table. He has asked for the pleasure of your company this morning. Tevya has brought over dozens of bagels with cream cheese. I will be mixing up a batch of Irish coffees. Tevya has been wondering if President Obama deserves to be referred to as a socialist. Please join us and listen to what he has discovered.

Doing the Research

Thank you all for joining me this morning. I have been wondering if calling your President Obama a socialist is a fair and accurate statement. I have concluded that it is not and I and my fellow bugs have agreed to drop the word. The decision is based upon facts, not political correctness. The simple truth is that President Obama does not adhere to socialist principles. Socialism is an economic system. The means of production are owned by the government. Obama does not want to "own" the means of production. He prefers to control it and control it he does.

Buried Under Regulations

So if President Obama is not a socialist what is he? Well, this bug thinks it far more accurate to describe him as a fascist. For one thing, fascists allow citizens to own their own businesses. In fact, they like it that way because if something goes wrong, it is so easy to blame the business owner and not the government.

What a fascist prefers is to completely control the privately owned small business or corporation by regulating it to death. Does this sound familiar? The government controls the economy by burdening it with hideous taxes and regulations. If an "owner" can't make a profit, don't look to the government. The failure lies with the hapless management. It's a win-win for the government and a lose-lose for the private sector. America has the highest corporate tax rate in the world! It is nearly impossible to compete in the world market when you start out behind the eight ball. America's small business owners are being choked out of existence by mountains of regulations. That, my dear friends, is fascism.

Government Control

Fascism is very supportive of the single party state. We don't actually have that yet, but it is being worked on. I suppose first you have gridlock, then you have executive orders and then you have one party and that party is the president's party. Fascists hate almost everything. They are definitely anti-communist, completely anti-democratic, thoroughly anti-conservative and totally anti-individual. Fascists also oppose liberalism which may explain why your President Obama seems so confused and wishy-washy about the issues. The one facet of fascism that has played out quite distinctly in this administration is the desire to suppress all opposition. No one enjoys criticism, but this administration has elevated this to new heights. The campaign against FOX News is a perfect example. Clearly, this administration has gained control over the MSM, because they stopped reporting all the news when President Obama entered the White House. The right to free speech has been severely damaged in America. Political correctness and vindictive reprisals (think IRS) have become the norm. That's fascism!

Who Me?

Fascism works quite well as a system of governing where blame is something that must always fall on someone else's shoulders. If President Obama controls the economy and unemployment numbers improve, it is a big success for the president. If the numbers look bad, blame corporate America. Perhaps the reason your President Obama can vacation so much and get in so many rounds of golf is because his conscious is clear. The private sector must be screwing up again.

Life must be very pleasant when you can take credit for every success, or perceived success, and turn blame for failure elsewhere. It's good to be the king!

Tevya's Song

Dear God, you made so many fascists

It's a shame to be a fascist

And it's no great honor either!
