Let Us Eat, Drink, and be Merry by Merwin
"They don't care if we know... we can't stop it."
We are on the very verge of The Apocalypse. No... I'm not writing about the Mayan calendar. But, I am pointing to the books of the Bible and our global current events and stating clearly, we are at the end my friends.
I am not going too deeply into all the reasons that I am certain that what I am writing is correct, at some point the need to convince with the use of information becomes meaningless. Mostly because there is just too much proof. In fact... I may just provide some links with small descriptions of what the links show.
No, for this Hub I will keep the information very simple, and short.
Jer 24:5 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for [their] good.
24:6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull [them] down; and I will plant them, and not pluck [them] up.
***
Mat 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
***
Mat 24:32 ¶ Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh:
24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors.
All the things mentioned in Matthew 24, are upon us. Israel has become a Nation, "never again to be plucked up", Most of Jesus' defining portrayals for "the generation that sees these things come to pass" has happened. We are the only generation that has had the capability to "track" every man, woman and child on the planet, for prophecy (Rev 13) regarding the mark of the beast. We are there, and there is nothing to be done to slow it down or stop it, nor should we want to.
What then are we to do..?
Evangelize..! Evangelize and not in the modern, generally accepted sense of the word. Evangelism has for many, a mental picture of Billy Graham, bringing the masses to an eternal decision, a crossroads of sorts whereby Jesus becomes their savior. I do not wish to discount this process, because many a child of the Most High God who was chosen by God from before the foundations of the world, came to believe in just such a manner.
Everybody who believes, however, is not a Billy Graham. And I believe that nut and bolt evangelism, one on one, does not work in (just) this way. Nor does it have much to do with the person you're evangelizing bowing his/her head in the sinners prayer with you. It does however have everything to do with you and me expressing the generosity, mercy and inclusive nature of Jesus with nearly everyone we meet.
This does not mean we can't "keep it real". But what it does mean is that our "realness", should be nearly unbelievable to those that come in contact with it. It should be as though, those that we touch with God's generosity, experience in a "real" way the liberation we have found in Jesus. That we are not "given" to the material, rather, we are given to what is really important, letting people know that Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit, love them. Really, really love them.
The "real" that everyone expresses when they say they are just "keeping it real", is more cynical and surreal, than actually "real". That is not to say that their views need to be discounted, actually their perspective of what is "real" needs to be accounted for, just not adopted. This real, they speak of is why God's generosity is capable of having the miraculous impact that it has. It becomes the contrast of, "...this person is not out of touch with what is real, but, evidently because of Jesus... he/she is expressing something that is way above 'real'. This person, with clarity of mind and purpose appears to be liberated from the demands of what is 'real' and is showing a reality that most Christians don't show."
It is this contrast in view of the world and worldly Christians that becomes the expression of true evangelism. "You don't act like normal Christians, you actually act like you love me even though I am not part of your 'club'. You talk as though even yourself and the members of your club are fallible You don't act as though you dislike me when I cuss, or show my worldliness, you're different than what I am used to seeing from judgmental Christians, but, you don't involve yourself in worldly behavior".
Jesus hung out with the sinners and because of His "good news" of love, mercy and inclusion, changed those that followed Him from cynically real, to really liberated and saved. He did so not by rules and regulations, but by His emotional and Spiritual generosity. We are indeed at the end, and more than ever, they that have not yet believed, but were "the Chosen from before the foundations of the world", need exposure to His good news.
It is not our job to "change" those that come to Christ by giving them our "club's list" of dos and don'ts. The change that is sure to occur is the job of the Holy Spirit, and we need to trust Him to accomplish these things. We simply need to express by our behavior in generosity, inclusiveness and mercy, God's love for His children.
If you think the world's circumstances are getting uglier by the minute... you haven't seen anything yet...
2 Thessalonians...
2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.
2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
MARANATHA..!
Below is a link for a video that was an interview of a man (believer or non-believer, I do not know), that describes from an "insider" secular perspective, of what is in store in the Last Holocaust that is upon us, even at the door. The video is 9 minutes 14 seconds long and needs to be shared.
