Lets Just Get Lazy...

Updated on July 23, 2012

Progressivism is hard at work again this time under the disguised banner of Barack Hussein Obama. You know the present inhabitant of The People's House who ran as a pragmatic centrist, neither of which he is. Fact is he is a stone cold Progressive disguised as a Democrat. . Now I'm beginning to really see just how infiltrated the Democratic Party of old has become which makes me wonder what Democrats who have a head on their shoulders are going to do about the destruction of a once useful political party.

Obama's latest tirade against successful business owner's should fully illustrate what he sees the American dream becoming under his tutelage. It's okay to be lazy and expect success because somebody else is going to do that for you. He's redefining the American dream right before my startled eyes. It's okay to be lazy. He's going to make sure the food stamps and entitlements are plentiful while we can just sit back and wait for The Golden Goose to come and lay the golden egg of success on our doorstep.

This latest release by country artist Troy Cook Jr. captures the Obama moment for us.

Give Em The Good Life! Catchy Lil Tune!!!

Anywhere there is a carrot you should be aware that there is a stick attached. The carrots in Obama's bag are the free goodies that he wants to continue to dole out. But the facts point to the stick and that is that there isn't anything "free" to be had. Ever given much thought to the carrot and stick approach and how it's used to change behavior. In Obamaland businesses and business people's behavior need to be changed.

What is disturbing is that, as usual, the empty rhetoric is just that. It's all talk and no action because this is an election year. His first two years in office, when he had both houses of Congress, he frittered away chasing an unpopular bill that will now be his legacy. His carrot appeared as words to reward companies that create jobs here in America. Then there was the dangle of tax breaks for companies moving back to this nation. There are all kinds of tax reform proposals floating around the nation's Capitol but again folks, this is an election year so don't get your expectations up. The tax reform we desperately need, and it doesn't involve taxing the rich more than they already pay, no one expects to really see.

The Re-election Logo

The fallacy of the carrot and stick approach when it comes to dealing with business people is they aren't rabbits and don't appreciate the stick end of the deal. Eliminating tax breaks don't necessarily foster, nor promote, business growth and job creation. Business people know that perfectly well but it escapes Obama because he has "zero" business background and his elitist advisers tend to be the eggheads of academia. They still think after all the years that Keynesian economics has proved to be a failure that they, and only they, can make it work.

So lately rather than use the old noodle he wants to take the stick to the businesses that create jobs and beat them into submission by raising taxes? Really? To what effect? Most sane economists point out that what Obama is proposing is like an ant taking a leak on a forest fire, only with gasoline being the liquid of choice.

The lesson seems to have been lost on Barack Obama. What lesson? Businesses and business people are not rabbits. You can attract them with carrots but any sign of the stick(s) and the cage empties quickly. Then it's "which way did they go George?" time. Obama's buddy Jeff Immelt, the CEO of General Electric, is a prime example of the principle I speak of. Don't believe me? Just Google the name "GE and outsourcing" in the same browser box.

So lets think about what we are now seeing. Obama is now using the job creators as a whipping post. How productive is that in getting businesses to create wealth (read: jobs), other than for the federal government so he can spend even more of our tax dollars? He has not uttered one word about lowering the federal deficit with any additional revenues collected. He has done nothing, and I mean absoluitely nothing, to lower the level of federal spending. In fact, his proposed budgets have just increased spending. His idea of entitlement reform is to increase entitlements. That should be troublesome to most people. Obama has scared the hell out of the rabbits and they scampered off as they have a tendency to do. They are usually okay with putting their own carrots, and other associated veggies, on the dinner table for themselves and those they employ.

But Barack Obama has a substitute for rabbits. They are called SHEEPLE and Troy sings aptly of them above. Obama is again relying on his Sheeple to keep wanting those free carrots. They like the free stuff. They either like the $5 trillion and counting freebies that Obama has heaped upon their dinner tables in less than four years, or they ignore it because "it's not their money, it's government money." He's convincing them that all this is but a never ending fairy tale where money is no object. There are plenty of free carrots to go around is his message.

Stop Believing In Fairy Tales! Yes You Can!!!

The American Dream has never been for the lazy. It also isn't a dream where you can usually blame anyone but yourself for your own failure to succeed. I have never seen a President of this nation cast the types of aspersions this one throws like stones. He promised you hope and change. Now he is promising you a free lunch, all you need to do is believe in him one more time. Just how stupid does he think you are? You need to answer that for yourself. Just how stupid are you?

Take your political party blinders off and take a hard look. Are you better off than you were four years ago? He just said again on TV that he created 4.3 million jobs in the past three and a half years. The federal government does NOT create the needed jobs. The private sector does. See the stick? Better run like hell while you still can.

Wonder If Peggy Is Still In That Bubble?

I think people like Peggy Joseph still believe that Obama is going to deliver on all those empty promises. The ultimate in the "Lazy American Dream." If you are successful then don't give credit to where credit is due - to yourself. Somebody else did that for you. Is there any wonder that the rabbits run and the sheeple continue to graze?
