Who is Natalie McGarry?
Natalie McGarry is the MP for Glasgow East. She's a member of the Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP). Her husband, David Meikle, is a Conservative councillor on Glasgow City Council representing the Pollokshields ward. She was one of the founders of the Women For Independence group.
I disagree with her on several issues, but for what she wrote to Donald Trump, Jr. about his father's "repugnant campaign," I have fallen in love with her.

Trump in Scotland
Donald Trump, the reality TV star who is running for president, is of Scottish descent. His mother was a Scottish immigrant; his father was the son of two German immigrants. Mr. Trump owns two golf resorts in Scotland, both of which are losing money.
Donald Trump went to Scotland, allegedly on personal business, to reopen the Trump Turnberry Resort (a golf course in Turnberry, Ayrshire) that had just undergone millions of dollars in renovation.
Businessman, reality TV star, and presidential candidate Donald Trump gave a press conference on the 9th tee at his Trump Turnberry Resort on June 24. The official reason for the trip to Scotland was for Trump to re-open one of his golf resorts. Trump Turnberry Resort, in Turnberry, Ayrshire, Scotland, underwent an 8 month refurbishment as part of an investment thought to be worth approximately 200 million pounds, or roughly $300 million dollars in U.S. currency. Both the Trump Turnberry Resort and Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire had been losing money. Neither had provided as many local job opportunities as Trump had promised. Donald Trump predicted that as a result of the Brexit vote and the falling pound, Turnberry Resort would gain more visitors who would be attracted by the new rate of exchange between pounds and dollars.
The Huffington Post questioned whether this was a business trip or a campaign trip, and if so, would Trump’s campaign donors be paying for it? The Washington Post (whose reporters Trump has banned from his campaign) reported that many Republican leaders were concerned about the possible ethics violation of their candidate combining politics and business.
Trump was in Scotland for the Brexit vote, and tweeted about it. Unfortunately, as is so often the case with Mr. Trump, he did not bother checking his facts first.
David Tennant is currently going viral, reading some of the tweets that were sent to correct Mr. Trump's misapprehension. Some of them use profanity I've never heard before, and I'm a sailor's wife.

Crossing the Line: Donald Trump Committed a Federal Offense
Mr. Trump appears to be unacquainted with tact or morals. He's bragged of his adultery. He's currently involved in a civil case as to whether or not Trump University was a scam, and the Trump Institute scandal is also likely to wind up in court.
Republican strategist and Never Trump stalwart Rick Wilson hit upon the perfect coinage when he described Trump as running a “scampaign.”
Donald Trump is well known for his racism, sexism, and bigotry. Now, however, he's crossed the line from bad manners and/or sin to crime, committing a federal offense. Donald Trump has asked elected officials of foreign governments for campaign donations.
The Letter
Here is Natalie McGarry's letter in its entirety. She uses not one syllable of profanity, and she makes her opinion of Donald J. Trump crystal clear.
Quite why you think it appropriate to write emails to UK parliamentarians with a begging bowl for your father’s repugnant campaign is completely beyond me.
Given his rhetoric on migrants, refugees and immigration, it seems quite extraordinary that he would be asking foreign nationals for money; especially people who view his dangerous divisiveness with horror.
The US elections are a matter for the American people, but I do send my warm hope that they reject your father fundamentally at the ballot box, not just to protect and improve the cohesion in society, to stop his corrosive othering of immigrants and for the protection of hard fought women's rights in the U. S., but also, selfishly, for world security and international relations. The thought of his reactionary type of politics and apparent ignorance of world affairs having access to a seat at the world table is both surreal, and terrifying.
The above is a long way to say No, and do not contact me again.

Natalie McGarry Isn't My MP
As a Scottish-American, I have my own opinions on Scottish politics ... which are moot, as I'm not a citizen of Scotland. Some of Natalie McGarry's views I agree with, and some I disagree with; as she's not my MP, my opinion of her politics is unimportant. But I LOVE the letter she wrote to Donald Trump, Jr. about his father's illegal and unethical fundraising attempts.
