Pharmacy Crime Wave!

How many questions?

MSNBC calls it an "EPIDEMIC"

The corner drug store always been at risk when it comes to robberies and break-ins, just like any retail business. Add the fact that pharmacies stock abusable drugs that are popular on the street and it becomes a major problem.

The rash of armed robberies across the country drew national attention last week when an incident occurred on Long Island. A man came in and demanded drugs at gun point. Before he left, he had murdered three people including the pharmacist.

I'm both a pharmacist and a writer and hope to write a piece that will encourage others to take action. Many of the pharmacists with whom I have discussed this subject are frustrated and some are scared due to the lack of preventative measures taken by their employers. Many independent pharmacists, pharmacists whose name is on the sign out front, have begun to get concealed carry permits and go to work armed to the teeth.

Because some corporate owners are reluctant to engage in high profile security measures, it would really help my article to have as much feedback as possible.

Please take a moment to participate in my survey and share it with your friends via e-mail, social media, etc. Thanks so much for your interest and help.

I'll post the article (or at least a link to it) here on Hubpages along with the survey results.

There don't seem to be too many "corner"drugstores around anymore. I don't know why anyone would be against a security system. I would think customers would feel better about it.

Thanks everyone for commenting and for taking the survey. If you could share this in the social media, I'd really appreciate it!

Need about 100 more resonses before deadline tonight.

Thanks again!
