Presidential Priorities

Antoine is at the Table

Good morning, breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, October 13, 2014. Our industrious little French friend, Antoine, is at the breakfast table. He has asked me to invite all the breakfastpoppers to my house to share a beautiful assortment of croissants and lattes. He has grave concerns about President Obama's interests and priorities. Clearly, it is not with the American people.

His Larger Role

Thank you all for coming to breakfast this morning. Your President Obama spoke about the Ebola virus last week and his message took my tiny breath away. He began his speech by telling anyone listening that it was his job to make sure Americans were taken care of.He clarified his statement by telling you that he had an even larger role to play. If you thought that he said he had to close our borders and obey the law, you would be dead wrong! By his own admission, President Obama said that his "larger" role was to make sure that African families were safe. You might want to spike your lattes right about now, because all of this is too much to take. Apparently, Obama became an African King charged with the awesome task of caring for Africans. If you were thinking his thoughts were with you and your families, I am sorry to disappoint you. It is this ant's contention that your President Obama has never been and will never be overly concerned about America. I consider myself to be an American. I am a bug, but I love this country. If I could vote, I would, but barring that I have only my right of free speech to make my position known. President Obama never has and will never love this country. President Obama came into office determined to put brash Americans in their place. President Obama came into office determined to take the best about us and knock us down a peg or two or three. He is succeeding.

You've Got Mail!

The Justice Department has once again classified terrorism as work place violence. I am talking about Alton Nolen, aka Jah Keem Yisrael, who tried to convert his fellow employees to Islam. He didn't succeed so he decided to attack them and attack them he did. In the wake of this act of terrorism, President Obama took his faithful pen in hand and dashed off a letter to the mosque that Nolen attended. The imam read the letter to his congregation. Here is just one sentence from the letter. " Your service is a powerful example of the powerful roots of the Abrahamic faiths and how our communities can come together with shared peace with dignity and a sense of justice." In this bug's view, he should have skipped the letter writing to the mosque that produced this terrorist and instead written a letter to the mother of the jailed soldier still in Mexico. Once again President Obama's priorities are a bit askew.

Concern for Muslims

Now that President Obama has made it clear just what he is truly concerned about, he has added to his priority list the task of protecting Islam from any disparaging remarks. It has been reported that he attended a very brief briefing with pentagon officials about how the bombing runs were going in Syria. The meeting didn't last long because someone from the Pentagon said the word "Islamist" in the same sentence as ISIS. Apparently, President Obama stood up in a fit of temper and stormed out of the room. He returned to call out the Pentagon for daring to tie Islam in with terror. The meeting ended right there. Clearly, President Obama's number two priority is protecting Islam. If you thought he was interested in protecting Americans from ISIS you are wrong again.

Take That America!

It is my very little impression that President Obama is trying very hard to please certain people, but Americans are not on his list. He has placed the entire nation in harm's way by inviting Ebola into the country. He has put our children in harm's way by bringing new diseases into the nation via the invasion at the border. He came into power to teach America a lesson. His handlers must be very proud.

Antoine's Song

Let's go children of the homeland

The day of reckoning has arrived

Against you tyranny's ugly flag is raised

And his name is Obama....

While I was reading about priorities, I was thinking about the vacations Obama has taken of late. I guess I understand the need, but I question the message it is sending to the American people. I have doubts about any politician on the national scene, of course. I don't pinpoint one man in my disgust for the way this country is run....but the one man you are mentioning needs to lead.

Good Morning billy,

Obama is leading us right down the drain, which I believe was his intention all along. See you at the Inn, billy.

What else could we expect after voting this guy into office not once, but twice. His supposed charm was supposed to make up for his lack of experience and leadership, but that has failed.

So now we have a charming President who has been a near total failure in most everything.

His priorities are with his personal agenda of transforming this country into what he wants it to be. He has no concern whatsoever for what is best for the American people.

Good Morning Mike,

If there is anyone left in this country, and there is, who still supports Obama they are either insane or Marxists! See you at the Inn. Just in case bolt the door behind you. The secret word for entry is "impeachment."

The interesting thing for is that nothing here surprises me anymore. If he did something great, that would be a revelation. But I no longer have any positive expectations. Nothing new here.

Good Morning taxlarry,

I don't blame you for feeling negative. Most of us do. See you at the Inn.

Good Morrrning Brie,

I feel exactly the same way. Looking at him is unbearable, too. See you at the Inn.

While President Obama is a stellar example of misplaced priorities, this syndrome is systemic in congress, and it is found in both political parties.

There should be no place in the government where incumbents put their party goal above the goals of doing their job. This means take care of the primary business of the office, and not go around the country or the state (congressmen), pandering for campaign money, or votes.

If the incumbent accomplishes good things for the country, state, and the people then they should be reelected. But, if they don't accomplish these things, then they shouldn't be reelected.

Yes, all the politicians do it, and this puts most of the bill on the taxpayers, as the party only pays a nominal amount of what it actually costs the taxpayer. In addition, the loss of focus while they campaign, as evidenced from the mass campaigning in 2007-2008 resulted in congress and the president being deers in the economic meltdown.

Also, I don't believe that donating to the political party should be a tax deduction for the donator. Except maybe the first dollar.

President Obama, and VP Biden were in California last week on fundraisers. This was a very expensive visit for the taxpayers, as the government tab is only nominally repaid. Then there is the loss of focus on the major issues of the country.

Fundraising and campaigning is not part of the job description for these politicians. Yet, they have made it is de facto part of their job, and that needs to be changed. For President Obama when he does party business, he is not representing the voters in the other party. Just because a politician is in one party or the other shouldn't me that the voters of their opposing party should be left with little to no representation. And this is especially important when it is the president, as it involves the people in the whole country.

I realize that it is not realistic to expect any change in the current political system, but that is the result of the failure of the voters to demand better representation.

Thanks

Remember that "fundamental change" the Muslim-in-Chief spoke of? You're seeing it in full swing. What we need to see is Obama swinging.

Seems like you missed the 10 million Americans who got healthcare insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

But I understand what you're saying. I feel that no political party represents my interests. Republican politicians just want to protect millionaires and Democrats just want to raise wages. Who represents the other priorities, like helping small businesses survive, updating American education so that it fits the 21st century's needs, rebuilding the transportation network, etc., ad infinitum.

I enjoyed your answer to Morning Mike. And Brie took the words right out of my mouth. I don't listen to his speeches anymore, other than a sound bite here and there, but it is literally an emotional recoil to hear his voice and watch him make a speech. So I stay informed via newspapers (although they aren't always accurate due to bias and political agenda). I try to read both conservative and the more liberal. If I don't feel I am getting the straight story I force myself to listen to the speech as best I can.

bradmasater made a very good point - "For President Obama when he does party business, he is not representing the voters in the other party. Just because a politician is in one party or the other shouldn't me[an] that the voters of their opposing party should be left with little to no representation. And this is especially important when it is the president, as it involves the people in the whole country." I've thought this for a long time. Obama is so blatantly only concerned with the liberal party. Actually, I consider Obama a pied piper of the liberals. I can't fathom why anyone would think he was doing a good job. I have dear friends who think he's great. So we agree not to talk politics.

Loved the croissants and latte. Perhaps with the fall weather you could soon add pumpkin spice.

Dr Billy Kidd - What about the 20 million or so Americans who lost their healthcare due to ACA?

Dear Tom,

Dear bradmaster,

Who cares about typos! Your passion and fantastic suggestions are what counts. The system sucks, let's face it. According to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethic in Washington, a total of 297 members of Congress have earmarked $3, 776,001,807 for organizations that are connected directly to them or to their family members. This tells the whole sad story.... See you at the Inn.

Dear Dr. Billy,

I think you may be missing some important info. The most transparent administration in the history of America won't reveal the premium rates for plans on the website until AFTER the November elections. Health care costs are rising at an alarming rate thanks to ObamaCare. See you at the Inn and we can talk some more.

Dear lambservant,

Forgive me when I say that if anyone still thinks Obama is doing good job, they might want to move to Putin's Russia. It is so clear that he does not give a damn about America. He goes out of his way to disparage our nation. The only reason he still has some supporters is because they are not really paying attention to what he says and does or they are socialists who are in hog heaven. See you at the Inn.

Thanks for your comment.

Maybe these elections should be held on Halloween, because they are pretty scary.

Boooo, it has several connotations.

Obama has 18 priorities, all are golf holes...He read somewhere that if he played 200 rounds he gets one free...This Dumb and Dumber empty suit has time to focus on 18 holes of golf but doesn't have the time to pick up the phone, call the president of Mexico, and get our Marine out of there...3 doctors, including one in Mexico, have identified this combat Marine as suffering from PSPD, yet this Muslim a$$-licking pr..k with ears refuses to bring our Marine home...I think a blanket party is due this ignorant and incompetent doofus occupying our White House...Larry

Dear maven,

The POTUS had the will and the time to write a letter to a mosque, but not a word to the president of Mexico or the mother of the marine. Obama belongs in Kenya or Syria or Iran, but he doesn't belong here. Oh wait, I think he belongs in Saudi Arabia because it sure looks that they are telling him how to destroy America. I'll meet you at the Inn.

Jayfort 23 months ago

We don't just need higher quality politicians...we need higher quality VOTERS! People who put country FIRST! People who are educated on the candidates and current situation of the country. People who vote for "content of character and not the color of skin." Far too many people voted for Obama to see the first black POTUS without considering his character, skills (or lack thereof), or qualifications (or lack thereof)!

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop 23 months ago Author

Dear Jayfort,

How right you are. When I think about why voters chose Obama I cringe. They voted for a man who had no experience whatsoever and whose background was muddled. Voters were pulled in by a slick speech via teleprompter. Shouldn't our standards be higher? See you at the Inn.

Great to read a rant dear to my own heart! You nail it every time.

It IS amazing that there are STILL people out there that hasn't figured this man out yet. It actually scares me that we have so many people who would STILL vote this guy in again, if they could.

I love the comments on here too.

Dear Chris,

I believe that those who still stand by Obama fall into a few categories. First there are the grateful hands-out people who only understand food stamps. Then there are the educated but severely misinformed who skim the surface of current events and are grossly out of the loop. The last group are the socialists who are delighted with the take down of America. It's wonderful to see you Chris. I'll save you a seat at the Inn.

I'm sick of hyphenated Americans. Either we're loyal Americans or we're not. We cannot be loyal to two nations at the same time.

Breakfastpop 23 months ago

I feel the same way. At this point in our history, there are too many people who are ashamed or disinterested in being an American. See you at the inn.

Why is our nation still refusing to impeach this fool? Yes, I am tired of his ways and his ignorance of our US needs. Glad you are sharing this message.

I ask myself the same question every single day. Every decision he makes puts us at risk. See you at the inn. It's still safe there.

This President would not be impeached if he sold the White House to Putin. Nobody would want to be involved in impeaching the first black President of this country.

Breakfastpop 23 months ago

Dear Mike,

I would like to be involved!!

Old Poolman profile image

Old Poolman 23 months ago from Rural Arizona

Patti, so would many others like to be involved but it just isn't going to happen. The same logic would apply if it were a female President. It would be a political death sentence to anyone involved with the impeachment proceedings.

No, it isn't right but that is just the way it is.

Breakfastpop 23 months ago

Dear Mike,

I hate that you are right because the fear of impeachment puts being PC in front of the nation's welfare.
