What a Waste!

Oh, Mon Dieu!

Good Morning , Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, March 3, 2014. Our friend Antoine is with me this morning. He dropped in for breakfast and a chat. With tax time fast approaching he would like to tell us just how our hard earned money is being wasted by this administration. Please join us for warm buttery croissants and a French coffee.

Bonjour mes amis. Il est moi, Antoine. I recently learned that your government had spent $100 billion on programs fraught with waste and corruption. I nearly lost my appetite, but these croissants are calling out to me. The list of programs that have wasted your money is quite long. None of you should be surprised to learn that the top three programs are all healthcare related. The winners for the worst losers are Medicare Fee-For-Service reimbursements, Medicaid payouts to the states and Part C of Medicare Advantage. These programs alone accounted for 62 billion dollars of the "improper" payments made with your money.

Big Government is Hauling Your Money Away

Hand It Over!

The amount of waste goes on and on and yet this ant hears precious little about it in the news. Last year your country gave an aid package to Egypt that consisted of 16 F-16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks. Basically, the Obama administration took your money and handed it over to an enemy, an enemy that reminds its people to make sure their children and grandchildren foster hatred towards Zionists and Jews and all those that support them.

Are you aware of the fact that your nation left behind $7 billion worth of military equipment in Afghanistan? The Obama administration spent $27 million teaching Moroccans how to create pottery. Your taxes were given to Yale University. To be exact, you spent $384,949 so that scientists could learn about sexual conflict among ducks!

Not Funny At All...

The insanity if all this waste speaks for itself. What it doesn't address is why there isn't more of a public outcry. This is, after all, your money. If I were you, I would resent every single dollar I give away to a government that is so blase about spending it foolishly and never addressing the problem. It is a big problem and should not be considered the cost of doing business. The cost is too high and all of you are paying the price for gross incompetence. Your taxes are going up and they will continue to go up as long as government is never held accountable for their bad and disgraceful behavior.

Your President Obama has vilified the rich because he doesn't believe they give enough. When I remember that the Obama's spent a whopping $1.4 billion in 2011 alone on trips, staff and salaries, I just want to bury myself in an anthill and cry.

You Have a Pen, Too!

Tell the Government How You Feel!

This ant thinks it is high time you dust off your pen and use it. Write to your representatives and remind them that they work for you. Let them know that you are aware of all this waste and that you are not amused. Your taxes are not this administration's personal piggy bank. In the private sector just one of these outrageous wastes would be grounds for immediate dismissal of those responsible. It is time that big government is reined in. It is time to demand a complete accounting of all the money being spent. Obamacare will open the floodgates when it comes to mishandling of funds. The opportunity for waste will multiply, no doubt, to epic proportions.

Let's go children

The day of reckoning has arrived

Against you tyranny's ugly flag is raised

Stand up for yourselves!

Pop and Antoine,

I sometimes wonder if our politicians aren't on the payroll of late night comics to provide them material.

Good Morning Tom,

That's the only true purpose they serve! See you at the Inn. I am so cold, I can't wait to get to the Inn where it is warm and toasty.

Enough to make a Preacher cuss! There is so much apathy, people don't think of consequences. Accountability should begin with our leadership in the big house, sadly it just isn't there. Dam shame!

Things like this just make you want to pay more taxes don't they? Is it any wonder that over 50% of our citizens have dropped out and pay no taxes at all? Heck, I may join them if this keeps up.

Good Morning Fiddleman,

How apathetic we are now... It couldn't happen at a worse time. The damage this administration is causing will be with us for years and years to come. See you at the Inn. Dress warm, it's freezing!

Good Morning Mike,

The fifty percent you are referring to are just the kind of people Obama is looking for. Why work when you can take other people's money. Why give a damn about how other people's money is being spent when all of the needs of the non-payers are provided for. See you at the Inn. I need to calm down!

What I feel is that apathy is the keyword. It is not that people don't care on some level but they are hiding their heads in the sand..and mostly don't know what is really going on. The press only bad mouthes the Other side.

Good Morning carol,

I guess we are just an easy target for government shysters who promise everything and produce nothing. I'll see you at the Inn.

POP: You have the right idea about writing to your representatives in Congress; however, one person writing is not enough. I always write, and get back, months later, the canned letter thanking me for my support. Most of the time I am disagreeing with them, which means that they don't even read my letters. However, I wonder if all your fans on Hub Pages would agree to write on the certain subject and email it on a specific day, if we would get any results. We need a large group writing because you can only write to your representatives; not ones in other states. It is worth a try. I often wonder about all the demonstrations in other countries, and why Americans don't rise up and let Congress and the White House know that enough is enough. My rant is over. I need to visit an ant and practice my French, so I am off to the bar.....

There is apathy only because the democraps don't want to hear anything. Harry Reid thinks that anyone who complains, is lying. The apathy is that congress doesn't care, about anything.

This has been going on ever since government ballooned under FDR, and it will never stop until government is reduced in size scope and power.

In other words, it will never stop until we revolt and boot the scoundrels out.

Dear Pino,

You're right about needing lots of letter writing. Most of the people on my hub do write, so we need a bigger audience. For me the most effective action is to vote all the clowns out of office and to tell them why it happened. See you at the Inn. Antoine is very anxious to see you. Ooh-la-la!!!

Dear taxlarry,

You are certainly right about Congress. Maybe they all left town because they don't seem to mind letting Reid be a one man show. What a dereliction of duty!!!! See you at the Inn.

Dear WillStarr,

That is the only solution. Until we make these fools realize that we hate the way things are going and that we hold them responsible we can expect more of the same. See you at the Inn.

Dear Frog Prince,

You're right. How could I forget a study that will change how we all live and improve our quality of life. Apparently, we have a lot to learn from ducks! See you at the Inn.

"Stand up for yourselves"....that pretty much says it all. Pull your heads out of the sand and actually pay attention...that would be a great starting point. :)

Waste fraud and abuse. @#$%

Sounds like government run. Oh yeah it is.

Good Morning tirelesstraveler,

It's time the dictionary underwent some change. Government should mean waste and fraud should mean the Obama Administration. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you the agony. See you at the Inn tonight!

Antoine, you're right on target.....but my ant friend, this type of thing has been going on for a long time - decades in fact - though it's worse now than it's ever been.

I used to be part of the Concord Coalition, which at one time actually had some pull in Washington. Those days are gone, out the window with 9/11, new wars, a more prevelant entitlement attitude among Americans, the tax dollar bailout of companies too big to fail and Obamacare. Yes, the use of tax dollars to study sexual conflict among ducks is sad and laughable, but financially speaking the cost of that study is dwarfed by everything else.

We're in trouble, and any hopes we had of holding Washington's clowns to accountability is gone.....the window of opportunity is closed.

Dear Hxprof,

If you add up all the money spent studying insane non-issues the amount is staggering, especially in light of all the miserable cuts this administration wants to make to our defense . We can't afford to do business as usual. See you at the Inn. I will be arriving by dogsled and wearing 85 layers of clothing!
