Hey all.

My name is Amanda Corbin, and I'm new to professional blogging, though not blogging for personal reasons.

I find writing to be a rewarding and awesome hobby hands down.  I'm a compulsively curious individual and I can't promise that this blog won't touch on a dozen different topics in the course of a week.  

If I can research it, I'll write about it.

I have a fiendish love for all things fantasy and science fiction oriented, and most things that people might call out-of-the-ordinary.

I'm training to be a hypnotherapist and am endlessly fascinated by hypnosis and what can be accomplished through it and with it.  Though most of what you may find or read about hypnosis is theory and not fact, I always caution skeptics to remember that almost everything we take for granted as every-day practice and common-knowledge fact was once itself just a theory waiting to be proved.

 I'm a single mother of a wonderful four-year-old boy, named Drake, who I'm sure I'll be sharing with you here pretty frequently.  I love being a parent and I love interacting with other parents to gather their viewpoints on the whole raising of children process.  

 I was raised all over the U.S. by a single military mother who suffered a long time in a job she hated to give me a quality of life she hadn't known.  She's now a successful small business owner and private contractor.  Go Mom!  As a result of all that traveling growing up, I have a love of keeping in motion, a nomadic spirit, and have friends everywhere.  My heart belongs in California though!

 I look forward to getting to know so many of you and really fortifying myself in the blogging world.
