Matt Baamonde is a 21 year old scholarship student at Berklee College of Music, Boston, Massachusetts, where he is majoring in Contemporary Writing and Production.
His home base is Herndon, Virginia, where he studied at the Fairfax County Academy’s Music and Computer Technology Program. In 2004, Matt was awarded a scholarship and attended the National Guitar Workshop and a year later he won the “Academy Award” for being the “Most Creative Composer” in his area.
Baamonde’s music, under the band name “Baazar”, gained national attention by winning awards at GarageBand.com and American Idol Underground. He has been featured in the Washington Post, Guitar World (July and August 2006) and on Fox News.
Matt’s Modern Guitars column, Berklee X, talks about his experiences at Berklee as they unfold and as he evolves as a guitarist and performer. His first CD, featuring his award winning songs, will be available soon at CD Baby.
