Dolores Monet on HubPages

Hi! My name is Dolores Monet and here I am pictured doing what I do best. I am here because I love to write. I have published several pieces of short fiction under another name.

I have attempted to identify most of the photographs used in my hubs. A few old or historic images remain unidentified. Most of the photographs and drawings are my own.

In addition to writing, I garden, birdwatch, read, make soap, aprons, refinish furniture, and paint landscapes on salvaged cabinet doors.

One of the great things about Hubbing is that I just 'bump' into so many amazing articles. I love the fact that I can write up whatever I am currently interested in, it makes me delve deeper and think about things more.

I recently came upon some new music and decided to write a Hubpage about it, so wound up learning about several forms of Gypsy Immigrant punk and discovering some great new bands!

When I found a photo of my house from street level on Google Maps, I was taken aback by the intrusion and shocked at how awful my home looked. Hubpages gave me a public forum to spew my opinions.

While browsing photos of past camping trips, I remembered how nervous I was at the prospect of a proposed primitive tent camping trip, there was so much to think about, what to take, what kind of food we'd need,so I created several hubs for people a bit wary of camping to encourage them toward adventure.

As the frugal life has now replaced uberluxory for the masses, I've attempted to address a new life style that is actually pretty old news to me. Some of my thrifty suggestions include the move to live a greener life and I'll start to include some recipes, like the one for English muffins.

I occasionally mention my current favorite website,Our Green America, a lovely site about two crazy kids who left DC dream jobs and gave away all their stuff to travel around the country in search of sustainable farms, businesses, buildings, etc.

Lately, maybe because it's fall, heading toward winter when we spend more time indoors, I've been writing a bit about books and movies.
