Don Keesee on HubPages

At this site, I am trying to tell Ran's story, chapter by chapter as I am able to gather the information and enter it. In other words this hub is looking into the writing process itself and inviting others to contribute ideas. Please feel free to comment and/or ask questions. Yes, there are some mysterious things going on in the actually telling of the story. My plan is that you become part of this venture as it is in this creation phase . . . . as sort of a novelistic volunteer. It is a novel, still, the book is historical in nature in several ways.

My plan is to create this book online. putting up what has been written in fairly real time. I once did something like this with only one person at the other end. Now there can be many more. The book is copyrighted, yet it will be free to view up to and a bit after the time it is completed in this online form. Then it will be published (though it would be great to also keep it free online even after that through advertising such as you see on this site now--but we will see about that.)

Who is Ran? That is a difficult question--really. There is truly not an easy answer to that query. I hope the book will eventually answer it. But, in a real way, I am attempting to get the answer myself.  So please be patient with me.

Another thought. Many people have gotten involved in a public way with books after they were written. But you, if you choose to, can be involved in one while it is being written. For most ideas will be displayed here and each one will be seen and dealt with. And such ideas may have an impact on the writing of the book--in some way, perhaps all such ideas will.

I wish Atlantic Meridian Publishing Company could pay each contributing person for his or her ideas, but it cannot. So, remember that there is no obligation on the part of Atlantic Meridian or anyone else to compensate anyone for any idea offered here. Though, on the other hand, it is free to compensate people for ideas if it decides to. (I know that most people would expect nothing.)

Historical note: This project was begun offline some time before the tragic events during and after Galveston's Great Storm of September 2008 (108 years after it's first Great Storm). The author knows this city and has met many of its people and was saddened by the city's suffering.
