Drake's Compass on HubPages
Welcome to the Hub Domain of "Drake's Compass." Why did I choose this name? Well, I am fascinated with travel, thirst for adventure, and hope to span the globe before my days living on it are done. Toward this end I have always admired Sir Francis Drake, the English privateer, conqueror of the Spanish Armada, and global circumnavigator who was guided by his compass. He lived life with passion, gusto and adventure, and I hope that my hubs reflect this same spirit.
Drake's Compass holds a Masters degree in History, and seriously considered pursuing a doctorate before he and his beloved wife decided to build their dream house near the South Carolina coast. Travel, history, sports, food and wine are just some of the things that make him tick. Welcome to his world.
