I'm blessed with great kids, great friends, great family + a wonderful house I was able to buy on my own on my not-great-but-decent income. I'm so glad you liked my hub on single parents camping. I just returned today from a single parent camping experience at a state campground in Salisbury Beach, MA. I took all three kids. It is well worth the effort. The kids love it! It is tiring for me, but worthwhile. I'll write more tips about camping with kids. The more I camp with them, the more I learn.

Welcome to hubpages! I was a San Francisco suburban mom myself for seven years. Was married then, but a single mom of two in Oklahoma during the nineties. I see your "frugal living" tag...bet you have many of those techniques perfected! I'm in SoCal now...both parts pretty fantastic compared to other parts of USA.
