JDove-Miller on HubPages
Jacqueline Dove-Miller is a retired high school English teacher with 31 years of educational service. During her copious leisure time, Jackie writes creative non-fiction articles about retirement and growing older, where she explores the emotional impact of freedom from work and the physical changes that often take older, formerly active adults by surprise.
Living in NC with her husband, Allen Miller, Jackie has written a book of prayers entitled On My Knees, which is still unpublished. Several of her poems and prayers have appeared in local publications, and one poem can be found in a national anthology, Quiet Moments, published in 1990; one poem and two pieces of creative non-fiction were published in the 2008 edition of Gravity Hill, another literary anthology.
Jackie is the owner and operator of Spirit of Peace, an in-home business that markets inspirational novelties that feature her original prayers, poems, and graphics. Recently she has begun to write and perform inspirational spoken-word and has produced a sample CD of her inspirational poetry, A Spoken Word of a Woman Who Can. Having had a deep love for the written word most of her life, Jackie finds the spoken-word a powerful avenue through which to share her poetic ministry.
