Self-Publishing Supports My Lifestyle
When my wife Susan and I decided to escape the big city and our soul-crushing cubicle jobs, we had to find a way to make a living from home. Back in 1994, the concept of using the Internet to become location-independent was just starting to emerge, and few people had figured out how to make it work.
Fortunately for us, our skills were well-suited to consulting and telecommuting, and by 1996, we were able to move our home and our business Logical Expressions to the woods of North Idaho. Susan's graphic design and editing skills helped us market our business. My background in business and software development let us develop the systems and tools necessary to keep things running smoothly.
You can read more detail about how we made this transition happen at our company Web site:

Internet Publishing and Information Products
Both Susan and I are compulsive writers and enjoy teaching. Consequently, we created many web sites and publish tons of free articles on every subject that interests us. We have a lot of fun and enjoy the feedback we get from readers who appreciate the information we provide.
Of course, free articles don't pay the mortgage. After several years of developing a lot of content, we learned about ways we could monetize our efforts and get our information out to a wider audience. We organized our content and packaged it into information products like e-books, downloadable templates, and software tools.
Venturing into Print Publishing
Putting our content into print form was the next logical step. We learned about self-publishing and print-on-demand, and we were hooked by the flexibility and control it could give us as publishers of our own material.
Now, eight books later (I'm co-author on two of them), we've found that many other authors and professional consultants want to know how they can do what we've done. Once again, we find ourselves dispensing free information. Self-publishing has become an important part of our lives and our business model, and we want to share the joy.
