I'm currently making a passive (doing nothing to earn it but cashing the check) 100.00 a month from my 136 hubs from adsense. My writing career and management career make me more money but hubpages can generate a passive income if you write enough articles and use good SEO. I'm exploring ways to supe up my AdSense income, time is my enemy :(
Me in a nutshell:
I started out on hubpages as a hobby and a way to learn how to make money online, and now a a year+ later I'm a professional copywriter making more money working at home doing what I love than at any rat race job.

All of my hubs also show my Photoshop skills, writing skills, and educational background as I write from what I know with no additional research (other than what I did anyway when I learned about the various fields of psychology and others). I do enough research writing at work, hubpages is mostly just me sharing my aquired knowledge and wisdom. (and a great creative outlet!)

The "Hub" Behind the man
I started my writing career on HubPages looking for a way to earn some money and simultaneously dumping most of this fascinating data in my head that I’ve collected for over 2 decades of my life into a blossoming article format that would allow me to teach people the fascinating things I’ve learned in my life experiences.
I have actually written entire hubs on my biography of things like my Entrepreneurial efforts from childhood to today so people can get to know me by my adventures in life leading to today (even surviving and comprehending the biology of a hangover). Its an intriguing glimpse into a childhood dream that led me to my current successes, and shows you how a dream can effect the rest of your life.
In some hubs I even talk about personal experiences with things like job hunting to help people running into similar road blocks. I've also posted hubs on the trials and tribulations of the actual process of getting a job and the ways I came out of failures to hopefully help others with similar circumstances see the silver lining.
With HubPages I like to write articles both about things I'm fascinated about and have figured out, to things of simple theory and mainly things I've experienced and how to help others accomplish my successes in life. That last link is all about hub pages the score and traffic theory. I like to think my experiences both failures and successes can be converted into an enlightening hub that could benefit others.I’ve always been quite addicted to learning about how my world ticks and thus if I ever didn’t know something I’d inquire about it.
In the early years, this brought my parents somewhat of a challenge as learning how the tape recorder or television worked I’d pull panels and start to discover the components *smiles*. It’s a wonder I didn’t electrocute myself! The luxurious information superhighway was built (yep they ran that highway right through my property although the traffic wasn’t too bad, but now days I wish their was more!) and I had a much more exciting place to find what I wanted to know.
Sites like “Howstuffworks.com” and http://gizmodo.com/ became sites that fascinated me to no end.When I stumbled upon hubpages.com in Craigslist of all places, looking for writing careers I discovered a whole other world of making money with writing. Essentially I’d always written blogs, and forum posts and on myspace wrote a lot of intriguing, what I come to know now as “Hubs”.
None of these sites however shared revenue with me for my part in earning their site income. HubPages did and that started an adventure. 80 Hub’s later here I am. I realized that making money on HubPages wasn’t as easy as I’d originally thought but this lead me down the road to my current career writing 100 word blogs designed to give sites backlinks and raise their rankings with search engines.
I now earn 3,000+ a month in income potential writing blogs but continue to grace the HubPages community with hubs as I learn the industry or just want to share information. Their are ways to turn your hubs into $2,000+ earning income cash cows however but just don't expect it to happen automatically. My goal is 50k a month which I can see reaching sometime in the next 2 years at the rate I'm going.
Writing hubs I must warn you is addictive and fun, and you can make money from your hubs if you learn how to generate traffic properly, but it is a lot of work. The trick to income is not all optimization, although that is a very important first step, traffic building through getting people to link back to your pages FROM AUTHORITY SITES which essentially means their site has a high PR rating with a lot of traffic, and linkbacks themselves, is the trick to the money. They say 1-3% of your traffic will click an ad so it’s all about the numbers.
I don’t write on HubPages for the money however (I usually cash my monthly 100.00 google check and buy my girlfriend flowers or take her out to celebrate the free money :).
I’ve learned more efficient ways to earn money, but HubPages is a great community of writers who help one another out and through the forum you can develop a lucrative social circle with people all over the world. HubPages continues to be my favorite site to write on as a hobby because of the great network of people you meet all the time. People can become your fans as well and can see all subsequent work you do, which is a pretty great thing to see new comments on your hubs AND new fans showing up.
I currently have over 500 fans (WOW, thanks guys!) who watch for new hubs I write. I haven't written many lately due to my work load in blog writing for income, but I periodically add new hubs as time permits.
