I enjoy writing fiction, but I am concerned by the growing disconnection between families and the increasing sense of danger that prevents us from allowing our children to run and play like we did as children and would like to write more on those topics.

Cute picture. I agree it is sad we don't feel our kids are as safe as we once were in our own neighborhoods. Part of it is all of the bad stuff in the news. Our government is so strict with security we feel their are bad people everywhere. Another is that we just don't know all of our neighbors anymore. We are to disconnected to them. My mom knew if I went down the street with my friends their mother could see me from their house. Or that if I had a problem I could go to a neighbor outside or knock on someone else's door for help. They all recognized me and knew who I was. Sadly it isn't quite the same today in most places. Sorry kind of a rant.
