When One Door Closes Another One Opens

Fifteen years ago, I pitched 10 agents for my first book, Passion at Any Age. After a six month investment in the book proposal, still no bites. One top agent loved my marketing plan for the book, however, the deal he offered wouldn’t work for me.

After reading Dan Poynter's book, I realized self-publishing, was for me. The agent-traditional publishers door closed - the self-publishing door opened.

A new audience; my book writing students in San Diego. I saw a need and filled it. I wrote the book that would help emerging authors get their books out of their head and onto the page. Write your eBook or Other Short Book filled a niche after Poynter's Self-Publishing Manual to focus on Wow chapter fast writing tehnique and pre-marketing with "9-hot-selling points."

Another Door Opened-Finding the Right Audience

I found my best audience -professionals who wanted short, easy-to-read information to make their lives easier and more profitable. With my motto of fast, fun and easy, I wrote the first 45-page version that grew to 88 pages. I created an eBook to sell on my website because it was easy and low cost. I only had to pay $500 for the Web site which improved greatly with two revisions. My audience?Small businessses who wanted to brand their business and write a self-help book to make other's lives better.

Expanding my Market to Amazon

One day, a traditional publisher called and asked me to allow him to publish my print book on Amazon at no cost to me. Still a great seller for five years, The Write Your eBook on Amazon supplements my Web site book sales and allows me financial security and a life where I mainly have fun. Always looking for easy,  I didn't have to ship with Amazon's program. All I needed to do was encourage people to visit the Amazon web site to not only give testimonials but, buy the book. The response - outstanding!

Opening the Internet Door - Article Marketing
 
My marketing expanded six years ago. I let go of traditional marketing because it was so time consuming and not profitable. My new one major thrust - internet marketing via article writing and submitting to top web sites and article directories. I wrote 5 books on this topic which also sell well. In 6 years, this method brought sales from $275 a month in the beginning to over $6000 a month these last years because I saw the need and filled it - the Online audience hungry for useful information would buy a lot...

More Passion Opened the Door to Fast - Writing More Books

How to Multiply Book and Client Sales - The Internet Door Opens

To get the word out on article marketing I offered teleseminars to the coach, consultant audiences who wanted an easy way to market themselves.

Big shots often connect to find out how a small business does such big business. All of this supports my other goals of traveling each year all over the world and counting blessings of my internet friends.

It took a while, but this year I offer 3 of my best book packages as affiliate programs. Great sharing and somewhat passive (although most marketing is active). I love this game and all it entails!

My mission? To assist committed business people in producing a short book to brand themselves, sell at their web site, and make a difference in people's lives.
