Kushal Poddar (1977- ) writes poems under his pen name Poddar Kushal or under Poddarku. Though fate has guided him to the path of being an advocate, after a degree achieved from The Calcutta University on Law, becoming a practicing lawyer at the High Court at Calcutta, he believes poet is his foremost identity. Born and brought up in India, studied English as second language, at the age of 31 he discovers he is writing poems in English, in his second language.

Previously, he has been published in his native language, Bengali. First poem was at the age of 6, of course in Bengali.
