I began my postsecondary education six years ago when I was sixteen. Currently I'm a graduate student in psychology, working on becoming a licensed marital family therapist. I’m an eclectic burgeoning clinician, meaning I borrow from a variety of schools and theories to treat my clients. I believe that therapy should be tailored to the individual and not the other way around; there is no one size fits all approach when working with something as complex as the human mind.
My formal training is in cognitive-behavioral therapy, but also in psychodynamic and depth principles. (See what I mean by eclectic?) The philosophical underpinnings that have shaped my outlook on life are positive ones, in that I believe that humans are benevolent creatures, and that achieving mental well-being is entirely possible.
