Maria Slaby is the co-owner of Mermaid Pools of Central Florida, Inc., a state licensed swimming pool contractor and builder of Florida’s first Entrapment-Free (Drainless) Pool serving Metro Orlando and surrounding areas. Since she initiated the change to the Florida Building Code to allow drain-free pools in 2002, she and her husband Mark have built hundreds of "Entrapment Free Pools." She continues to be active in the pool industry working to increase consumer knowledge of spa and pool safety. As a homeschooling mom of 4 kids, most everyday overflows with lots of "yippy skippy!"
