My interest in writing appeared when I became a mother at 17.  Many people thought that I would be just another statistic, so used writing as a way to convince myself that I wouldn't.  Of course, these words were never meant to be published, they were self-encouragement.  With dedication and determination, I succeeded in obtaining a college degree while at the same time holding down 2 part time jobs, and raising a baby.  It is that same dedication that I put into every piece of my writing today.  I enjoy writing about a variety of subjects, including family, travel, and infectious diseases, though I do not limit myself to those topics.  In my free time, I am an amateur photography enthusiast and I love to read.  I look forward to meeting others with similar interests here at Hubpages.
