Hello folks,
My name is Rob. I live in Florida. I'm not really a writer by any means however, I find it easy to write what I know and what I am passionate about. Some of those subjects include but are not limited to - The Outdoors (camping, backpacking, fishing), Fitness (working out, eating right, benefits of exercise), Spirituality (Buddhism, Wiccan, Native American Practices), Psychology (depression, relationship issues, suicide), Simplicity (Minimalism, Happiness) just to name a few. I really like reading and listening to Noam Chomsky, but I don't like talking politics.
Why did I start writing?
It began as a fly fishing/outdoors blog that I grew from scratch which garnered a fairly loyal following among fly fishers the world over. I did it as a motivating factor to show an especially gifted writer that if I could do it, then she wouldn't have a problem.

Hubpages is a nice community of people and I really like the feedback that I've received since I've started writing here. I also enjoy reading good, informative hubs.
Honestly, I really don't consider myself a writer. I feel like I have improved in the sense that I'm a bit more focused and that I seem to have developed my own writers voice. Read some of my earlier entries on the blog to see what I mean. I would jump thoughts and subjects in the same paragraph and pretty much confuse whomever would be reading it.....for some reason, raw, emotional pieces seem to come out of me with ease.
My rule of thumb:

My favorite hockey team, you ask...Pre-expansion, I used to pray for the Habs, because everyone where I lived hated them - it was hard to love them after the Rocket was gone, though (the original Richard, not the Pocket Rocket). Of course no-one much liked Toronto either (they were irreverently known as the "Make-Believes"). I loved gentlemanly but super-tough Guy LaFleur, but always secretly cheered for "Espo" and the Black Hawks. Was also a big fan of Ken Dryden, though he was much later - now there was one smart goalie.
It's harder to keep track of them all now, post-expansion, but I thought our guys gave it a real good run a couple of years back - good strong young team and Rollie the Goalie was awesome in his glory.
My all-time favorite team, though, hands down , is the Canadian Women's Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team - Oh, the Canadian men won too that year, LOL.

Hey Rob Dee, you were a bit above me on page 28 of 'hubbers' and I did a double take 'cause you looked so much like Vin Diesel! After reading the little blurb and seeing 'outdoors' I thought I should check you out. I hope you'll pay me a visit at some point.
