Terry Hammes on HubPages

Business owner, founder of Florida-House.org Inc. and the Florida-House concept, software inventor, artist and poet, Terry Hammes grew up on Capitol Hill and as a 16 year old, was one of two in Fairfax County, VA to participate in an elite program on democracy at the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation, PA, along with about 15 other high school students selected nationally. The program highlights included briefings by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the presentation of highly classified WWII footage from concentration camps, not released to the public.  Her father handled the AEROFLOT deal (the Soviet Union state airline, negotiated their entrance into the US at the height of the Cold War) on behalf of the US government in the early 1960's and her parents hosted diplomats from around the world throughout the 1960's in their Springfield, VA home. Her mom, was President of the Minnesota State Society during the Carter years, and both parents were close to Minnesotans Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale when they were each Vice President of the United States. Terry is a former Minnesota Cherry Blossom Princess, 1975. 

Terry programmed for the Miami Council of International Visitors for a decade and was granted a lifetime membership for marketing efforts for MCIV.org where she served as PR Director and Delegate to a NCIV Convention. Terry has hosted prominent International Visitors from around the world, including Russia, India, Nigeria, Romania, and in the 1990's, assisted the Miami Executive Director Rosa O'Neill, who was characterized as a "brilliant programmer" by a senior US State Department Programming Officer at the National Council for International Visitor Regional Conference in Rochester, NY [in a personal conversation with Ms. Hammes at Niagara Falls, NY in 2007]. She was programmed by USIA and the State Department to travel to Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose, CA's Silicon Valley to meet other Council Executive Directors and at the Silicon Valley Business Incubator, met and presented to the IT (Information Technology) Directors of 16 countries her proprietary software, now in demonstration mode, called IdeaNet: International Data Exchange Access Network, designed to standardize introductions within the 95 city Council for International Visitor network and the program internationally. In organization for Palm Beach County, as a group is attracting key organizational support within the community. Florida-House.org, Inc. (Florida House) is a group organized to become a Council for International Visitor city to facilitate the global exchange of internationally prominent professionals to visit the South Florida region for business and social meetings. Florida House develops programs with government, business, academia, the arts from countries around the world to promote mutual understanding and exchange, while strengthening the bonds of commerce and democracy, and to promote the region as an important center for commerce, education and culture.
