My name is Alison Gunn. I am an educational consultant, and after earning my Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition, I began helping kids and their parents get ready for the transition to college. In 12 years of teaching, I saw that too many of my students were poorly prepared for college, because they did not know what they wanted to major in, or what school would be a good match, or why they were going in the first place--for themselves, or to make their parents happy? So I developed my consulting practice, with the goal of making this transition smoother for children and parents. I charge $25.00 an hour, and our time is spent determining the best way to approach your child's application process, including essay writing, best schools available for the student's interests and abilities (and economic situation), and discussion about expectations, skills needed in college, and other college-related questions and concerns. I also consult with parents, to discuss their goals and expectations for the child.

In my spare time, I am an astrologer and tarot reader. I am always available for readings; I specialize in relationship issues and readings for couples.
