My career has taken many twists and turns. I started out wanting nothing more than being a disc jockey. As it turns out, the last professional radio job I did was also my first, and I found that the profession did not challenge me enough.

Then I pursued a career as a journalist, which included going back to school and getting a master's degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I worked as a journalist for eight years, covering municipal government for a number of small communities in western Massachusetts.

Ironically, after losing a reporting job back in the mid-nineties, I ended up transitioning into work on the other side of the municipal table, working as an administrator for several small towns (including a couple I used to cover).

In 2003, my family relocated to Maine, and I decided it was time to pursue my long-standing dream of teaching on a collegiate level. I have taught for Southern Maine Community College, Andover College, Kaplan University online and presently for the University Phoenix/Axia College online.

Additionally, I have established a professional editing service I call Full Moon Over Bunganut, which I hope someday will transition into a full-fledged publishing house.

I write science fiction and fantasy novels, and presently have focused my efforts on a series you see reflected on this site. Thank you for stopping by my hub. Check back often, and even leave a message, if you are so-inclined!

I used to have links to all my hubs in the space below, but I was dissatisfied with the appearance of it on my profile. Instead, I've posted a hub that has many of my hubs listed with links to take you there. I'm still organizing it, so it's not complete, but it's still useful. Here's the link:

Creativita

Hey there, crashcromwell...So much talent and diversity from you, and so little time and space to express my admiration. Coincidentally, Crash (may I call you that to save time LOL), some days ago (I'm getting dizzy from hubbing so much) I wrote a hub on SAD - Social Anxiety Disorder. I tell you this because I believe it used to be known, before the American Psychiatric Ass'n got a hold of these "patients," as "shyness," a subject you wrote about. Here's the link, in case you want to compare notes - http://hubpages.com/hub/Social-Anxiety-Disorder-Th Keep up the diverse writing life you have. all the best, Helen (a.k.a. Creativita) I've also written about writing at .../hub/freelance-ad-writing
