I was born in Sept,1969 in Woodstock,N.Y. (YES,THE WOODSTOCK) My family was a typically dysfunctinal one with an alcoholic father and a mother who kept begging for him to change. My childhood was filled with lots of screaming and violence, but I remember the stillness of the woods were all us kids would play, I don't think one of us wanted to ever go home. I left school 3 mos into 11th grade, a Catholic school at that! I had just turned 17 yrs old and left home with a man 10 yrs my senior, he was a scapegoat,...I would have went anywhere that waspeacefull and you did'nt have to worry abot my mom's,"midnight raids", I married him two days before I had my son,I was wearing sweatpants at the town hall in Millbrook,N.Y. I said."I do" without looking him in the eye because I did enough reading to know this was NOT the man I would spend my life with. I shiver today when I remember how hollow those words were and how we stood in front of a fake fireplace that literally had logs and flames painted in it, it was soooo hard not t crack up laughing. I pictured myself from above, like a movie, a stick figure 9 mos pregnant getting married in weats to someone whom she could'nt even look in the eye. Oh, and did I tell you it was raining cats and dogs that November 1st,1988. My grandmother,G>G,my father's mother of course planned the whole thing.She was quite a socialite and new the D.A of such and such who knew the judge and before I knew it she had me rushing down to the Millbrook Town Hall so as not to keep him and his family(the witnesses,I sware!) waiting in this weather. You see, she had been bothering me to get married for the baby's sake so it would'nt be born a bastard. Can you believe her telling me that shit? To this day my mother thinks she shoul have paid for the divorce and now as I look back, ABSOLUTELY! Well,live only got better from there,...yeah right. If I told you my life you would'nt believe it so you will have to read my novel as it cranks itself out. As for schooling, well I left after only all of 10th grade and 3 mos of 11th. Got a G.E.D by going to night classes at the Woodstock "Rec Center". I later went to a few different community colleges, the perpetual student and finally got to go to N<Y>U a whole semester. I got in based on the essay I wrote to get in. The man I was dating at the time was from Luxembourg and drinked a few bottles of wine a night.(This was befre I knew that as just as bad as 'other' less classy alcohol.) All he had to do was pass the N.Y Bar so he could become an international Lawyer,the'in' thing at the time. Well, after a few tries....no studying, God knows I tried,I lived with him for three years on Sullivan Street in SOHO, (my most favorite street to this very day) and even went on an Alaskan "Holiday" together. (another story for another time) But hs 'PAPA" eventually said to come work at his bank (which was THE Bank of Luxembourg) But Sammy wanted none of the banking industry, but with a tail between his legs he left. I cried like a baby. I had already met his father and mother(right along w/the father's new wifew-the previous mistress!) and was well-liked. But..BUT,I had two children whom at the time saw thier father every week and he was being quite patient with my free-spiritedness too. I would not,could not tae them away from they're father, not for all the money in Luxembourg. Now,I may think twice! LOL Well, thats enough for now.
