I am a 40 year old web applications developer. I enjoy my job and love new technology, especially those aimed at improving the online experience. I write a mix of content here, unlike most sites that focus on one niche.
I have an strong interest in living a better, healthier life, by staying in tune with nature. I think that there is a fundamental problem with the way the medical industry is setup. Although I generally believe that the capitalist system delivers lower cost products, to people, I think that it fails, when it comes to medical industry.
Here, people don't pay directly for their treatments, the insurance companies do. This means you don't make the most cost effective choices, when selecting treatments. Not picking a high value product, removes the downward price pressure you see in other markets. The exception is the cosmetic surgery niche. Insurance is not used in it, this has caused prices to fall like a rock, while costs have ballooned in the rest of the industry.
Medical research is another problem area. It costs 50 million dollars and 5 years to take a drug from research to market. The cost makes it unprofitable to research cures. Instead companies produce drugs that treat, disease symptoms, well. This basically creates life long clients that make the initial investment profitable.
One topic I write about quite a bit is about how people earn money online. This includes things like setting up a website and getting web traffic to your website.
I also write reviews of products and services I enjoy. The writing style I use on the reviews is that of a professional reviewer as opposed to the style of a consumer review.
Most of my reviews are of high tech product and services like reviews of online games or the newest netbooks. They are however not exclusively focused in this niche. In some markets the products change evolve quickly. Netbooks would be a good example of that. Intel brings out a new netbook chip every 9 months or so and the whole netbook is built around the chip. This means that reviews get dated relatively quickly. I go back to these kind of articles frequently to try and keep them updated. It is important to me that my articles stay relevant and useful, to my readers.
I believe that we work to live not live to work.
Comment policy
Many Hubbers like to go around leaving short comments like "nice hub" in an attempt to get good links to their profile. I don't need 50 comments telling me how good my Hubpage is, I know, I wrote it :) Also many of the comments I get are clearly not written by humans, but rather by bots. If your comment looks like it was written by a bot, I will definitely delete it. I am not a big fan of linking out to sites, outside of Hubpages, that look dodgy. Even though the links are "no follow" I think Google still punishes web sites that link to low quality sites.
If you leave a comment that ads to the Hubpage or asks a valid question, I will approve it.

Ask any girl: What do you look for in a guy? The first answer is usually: a good sense of humor. With guys it is an important dating factor, but not quite as vital as with girls. If you think about it, being funny isn't easy. It takes good timing,...
