 I dropped out of high school, went back for the GED,  then the BA in Sociology, went on to seminary for the Master of Divinity and finished with a Doctor of Theology degree.
Thirty years have passed. Serving as pastor to eight different congregations has been an education into people.  Marriage, deaths, divorces, separations and crisis of all desriptions have given me a well-rounded view of relationships.

WHY I WRITE: sitting on a school bus in Missouri when I was eleven, I decided to be a writer. I’ve lived from Los Angles to Norfolk to Chicago to Memphis and points between. As a boy, I swam the Mississippi, hunted rabbits in Tennessee, been solicited by gays in Hollywood and cut school for the beaches of Lake Michigan. In Viet Nam I earned a Bronze Star and a GED. I raised a son who is my best friend. I now have a grandson with whom I look forward to sharing the joys of boyhood. All my experiences I draw upon in my writing so that boys might through imagination experience my boyhood days.

I’ve written and published several books and seen my name on numerous articles in magazines and journals.
