Tamara's presently squeezing a freelance writing career into her full-time job chasing after a busy toddler.

She obtained a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and while in college showed a genuine passion for media. She worked as the General Manager of the University’s radio station (where she also volunteered as a DJ with an 80’s specialty show), did a news internship at a local radio station and worked doing layout and learning graphic design at the local newspaper.

After graduation, Tamara was drawn to the picturesque mountains and in 1998 moved with her family to Durango, Colorado. While living amongst the tall pines and quivering aspens, she found herself inspired by nature and published many general interest articles in regional newspapers and magazines. Fueling her creative juices for both art and writing, Tamara worked as a graphic designer and communications manager for many years winning several awards including two first and two second place awards from the Colorado Press Association and Mountain Ad Managers.

After five years of tough mountain living, Tamara packed up her family, belongings, her dog and three cats and moved to Portland, Oregon. She worked as a Marketing Communications Manager in the wine industry for several years where she further developed her love for all things culinary.

In between diaper changes, feedlngs and afternoon treks to the park, Tamara continues to write articles on a variety of topics including parenting, children, health, wine and food. She does this while also trying to find the time to work on her fictional novels and practice being a good human being too.
