I am an American born, white Southern Christian male. (Notice Southern is capitalized). Born in the 50's, I have observed the nation of my birth descend from a country of noble ambition seeking excellence and a beacon of individual rights transform into a republic where government over-reaching seeks more control and elevates the mediocre and the second rate while condemning achievement.
I am a politically incorrect, fairly intolerant high school graduate with a keenly developed sense of curiosity, a love of freedom and a believer in absolute truths.
I am a spectator of this game unfolding daily. I watch George Orwell's "1984" and Ayn Rand's, "Atlas Shrugged" play out before my eyes. I am in awe of the reality of Thomas Jefferson's admonition and prediction about the freedoms of the people decreasing as the power of government increases.

What a freshing voice. We both think (politically) the same. The following is the comment I left on my hub about your comment.
Thanks for your comments, Spectator. When do we all start marching on Washington and say, "Enough is enough!" Or do we become compacent and wait for others to protest? I for one will be joining a Tea Part on the 4th to voice my displeasure (for the first time in my life). We all need to make a stand against the politicians who are destroying our great country...and of course there's the voting booth. Every politician whether Republican or Democrat whoo voted for Tarp, the take over of the car industry, and now Cap and Trade should be sent home packing.
