Valerie Belew is an Internationally Certified Substance Abuse Professional who is also a professional writer, and the founder of www.poetrytogo.net, a commercial writing, marketing, and website design business.  She has published over 100 on-line articles on subjects related to Substance Abuse Treatment, Drug Addiction and Abuse, Specific drugs abused, pet care, fitness & nutrition, and other social and political issues.  She holds a masters Degree within the Human Services Field, and has served as Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, and Program Director of Substance Abuse Treatment Facilities.  She was also once a breeder of Australian Shepherd Dogs, Golden Retriever Dogs, and Himalayan Persian Cats, and presently works through various rescue agencies to provide temporary care for homeless animals until they can be placed in loving homes.
