Being Yourself - Does Your World Show a Heart?

Updated on July 25, 2010
The road you want to be on!
The road you want to be on!

I have to say it upsets me sometimes how this world is not always tolerant enough of difference.

There should be no prejudice but prejudice against prejudice itself!

Is it a FAIR world YOU live in? It should be! Demand it should be! Spread the word, spread the humanity.

Treat everyone as an individual with their own fascinating characteristics!

It should not be difficult for anyone and everyone to be trually themselves although doing this can lead to conflict in some cases, the conflict should never stem from not respecting the rights of others to be different.

"This above all: to thine own self be true" comes from Shakespeare's Hamlet Act 1, yet do YOU live in an enlightened world where this is fully respected as an ideal principle?

If you don't already, I ask you to spread the word - LET LOVE BE! let everyone BE WHO he or she TRUALLY is without FEAR.

If no-one, is getting hurt or exploited (I'm not advocating exploitation of children here!) I say theire should be no limit to what we do or how we define ourselves as human adults.

In the Hamlet scene, Polonius gives this as his parting advice to his son Laertes who is going to Paris.

This above all: to thine own self be true,

And it must follow, as the night the day,

Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Farewell, my blessing season this in thee!

But how do we arrive at such a noble principle if we feel 1. the world does not show a heart and 2. will not acknowledge us except with rejection, anger & or violence?

No one should FEEL this; though sometimes we will need to communicate better what we would like and ALSO LISTEN to where others are at so we too are just.

At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst. - Aristotle

Has the world come far enough in accepting who we are without prejudice or judgement?

This is enlightenment and perhaps only those who are enlightened can hear this. Hopefully, they remain in the majority especially wherever YOU, dear reader, may be so that YOU too can one day be FREE to NOT look inward and NOT have to say

This above all: to MY own self ....

yes...

I AM true!

YOU ARE THERE ALREADY BECAUSE IT IS ALREADY GIVEN.

If you belong with the enlightened already, I congratulate you!
