Important Flower Girl Information That All Brides Should Know

Even though I had seven groomsmen and bridesmaids in my wedding I still think that the most popular people that made it up the aisle (besides the bride) were our flower girls. I'm not really sure why, but for some reason flower girls are always a hit and are always a big focus of any wedding ceremony.

I'm sure that this has to do with the fact that flower girls are usually ridiculously cute and are usually unaware of what they're actually doing in the wedding, which sometimes results in some really funny situations. I'm sure that we've all been at a wedding where the flower girl does something unplanned, which causes the entire group of attendees to bust out laughing. Although sometimes embarrassing, it's never really a bad thing when this happens. To the contrary, it's sometimes the most memorable thing that happens in the actual ceremony, as they can be pretty boring sometimes.

Anyways, you can see the importance of including a flower girl in your wedding (which I'm sure you already knew), but there are also some details that you should be aware of when having one of these cute, little girls in your wedding. The following are a few examples of some of this information that's good to know and who knows, you might just keep on reading and actually learn something new. Hey, it could happen.

The Flower Girl Basket

One of the most important things that you need to get for your flower girl is her flower girl basket, which can sometimes be easy to forget about if you're not careful. This basket is what your flower girl will use to carry the flower petals that she's in charge of spreading out on the runner before the bride makes her way down the aisle. There are all kinds of baskets out there to choose from, but just be sure to get one that is a good fit for the size and age of your flower girl and of course one that matches the rest of your decorations.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the flower girl basket is also going to make for a great souvenir of her involvement in your wedding for your flower girl once she's done with her duties. This might make it worth getting some personalized lettering or something on it so that she will always know how much she was involved during your big day. It's a big deal for her to be involved, so why not get her a basket that shows it?

The Flower Girl Gift

Although the flower girl basket is somewhat considered a gift to your flower girl, it's something that you basically have to provide for her to do her job. So, although it's great if you get her a basket that's really nice, it's probably not enough of a gift to really show her how much you appreciate her being involved.

So, to really show her just how important she really is, you'll need to also get her a flower girl gift. Now, don't get all crazy about it, you don't need to drop a ton of cash on this gift, but getting your flower girl a nice necklace or bracelet that signifies her role on your wedding day would be a very nice touch. Just be sure that before you buy your flower girl something nice, be sure to run it by her parents so that they're OK with her having it. There's nothing worse than having to take back a gift from someone after they've opened it.
