It's not what happens to us that matters, but how we interpret what happens to us"

Updated on November 28, 2015

Live Your Life for You!

Okay, I'm going to keep this one short and simple. But basically, reflecting back on this year so much has happened. But I am so grateful that I was able to foster a stronger relationship with God. Not trying to get spiritual on y'all but he literally deserves the credit for turning my tragedies into triumphs. I know I'm not the only one who goes through things, but this year has been one! I call it my strengthening year. You never realize how strong you are until you take the time to look over all you've overcome. I can truly say I grew as a person and I'm so happy! You have to be patient with yourself and most importantly God's timing!

Ultimately, "it's not what happens to us that matters, but how we interpret what happens to us." This quote is so important and lets us know that we have to get our mind right! It's all in our mindset and how we view things. Your outlook on your situation makes all the difference to your outcome. I am a firsthand witness. You can be put into a very trying situation and if you allow your situation, it can put you into a place where you feel defeated and conquered. Basically, giving up and settling or allowing someone else to label or tell you what you are capable of or belittling you. We have to gain control over our situations by seeking God through prayer, surrounding ourselves with positivity, and beginning to value yourself (building that confidence and finding out what's best for you).

What irritates me more than anything is people telling you what you NEED to do, what you should do and then looking down on you when you do the opposite. So long I struggled with this smh. I'm all for people trying to help out and give you advice... cool, thank you! But to just completely impede your beliefs, values, ideas, and standards on others is a bit extreme don't you think? Let people live! Give them room to grow, room to make mistakes, and don't ostracize them if they do! We have to really learn to love and give second chances because nobody is perfect. We are all individuals and deserve to be able to express ourselves as such. Don't be afraid to do what you deem is necessary as long as you are not harming yourself or others and it is something you enjoy/love. Because I have literally witnessed people will try and tell you how to be or what not to do and you turn around and they are doing it. LOL. I'm really a free spirit and I'm all about living in the moment (still making sure you handling what is necessary) and enjoying life while you can because you never know when your last day is. Try to be there for others as much as you can because you never know what someone is going through and continue to push yourself no matter what! You have something great in you no matter who tries to discourage you! Keep the faith and know that better days are in store! Like always, I truly appreciate you taking the time out to read. Thank you, and remember that you are blessed and favored!
