Mistakes I Have Made

Life And Living It

I've made mistakes as a girl

I've made mistakes as a woman

I've made mistakes as a mother

And I've made mistakes as a lover

I've made mistakes in religion

I've made mistakes in making decisions

I've made mistakes in making choices

And I've made mistakes in my speeches

I've made mistakes in my head

I've made mistakes in my heart

I've made mistakes on the road

And I've made mistakes in finding my way

I've made mistakes in friendship

I've made mistakes by loving too much

I've made mistakes by choosing not to love

And I've made mistakes by loving too much

I've made mistakes in choosing school

I've made mistakes in choosing courses to study

I've made mistakes in exams

And I've made mistakes in accepting the truth

I've made mistakes in getting a job

I've made mistakes in accepting my job offer

I've made mistakes in my duties

And I've made mistakes in rectifying it

I've made mistakes in handling my finances

I've made mistakes with my credit record

I've made mistakes in my spending

I've made mistakes......

So what?

Where does it all lead?

We have all made mistakes in life, once, twice, always.....and the guilt lingers so heavy that it takes us a lifetime to get over it. But does it matter at all?

It does, and it's not so bad to make mistakes. After all we are not God. The way out is to see those mistakes as dots that when you connect would make a perfect line. A perfect line that is to lead you avoid those mistakes. But if after connecting the dots you get a circle, that's not a good sign. It could mean that you are coming back to making the same mistakes.....you would need to take a second look at your life style and make changes.

I've made mistakes....so what?

Many people never give a mistake a second thought, but rightly, a mistake recognized is to not make the same mistake again. Good line of thought...(Sorry for that)..Must contemplate life...

Mistakes are meant to be corrected. If you don't correct them, you made another mistake. More power.

Great poem, We all make mistakes but the greatest mistake is failing to learn from the previous mistakes. Good hub and keep up the good work you are doing.

so true... we all make mistakes and as others have said, the important thing is to learn from them and grow... and to not always be so hard on ourselves!

This is a least that I do well too.I am glad you made me see my own mistakes as a shared opportunity to do better.Very creative and now with the mistakes see if you can write a follow up poem of the new things you have learned because of them. That will be interesting.Have a great day.

Well you made no mistake in writing this. Very honest; this asks the reader to question their own decisions, as well as not beat themselves up too badly about mistakes.

Hi Neon_Letters!

It's because we are so attached to the things that bring us hurt.

I hope we all learn from our mistakes.

Good hub, I don't like to call them mistakes, as long as you learn from them they're just like speed bumps in the road. Peace!! Tom

Cool poem!

We learn the most through our mistakes. Pain & regret from bad choices is what make us see we need God to even survive and to stay on the path of right choices.

The ones that keep getting back up and trying it over and over again until they get it right are among the strong and courageous.

None of us are perfect- But I know the one who is JESUS.
