The Condom Rule in Sex Scenes
I thought it was just common sense. Maybe not. At least not in the Los Angeles porn film industry.
Measure B passed in LA County a few days ago, which requires porn performers to wear condoms when filming sex scenes. Of course, the porn industry has already said they plan to go to court over it. The measure also requires for producers to obtain a permit from the county health department to shoot a sex scene. The sponser of the measure was the AIDS Foundation seeking to safeguard the public and porn stars from STD's. The porn industry said the measure was not needed because the industry already does this voluntarily and all performers in sex scenes undergo monthly tests for HIV and STD infections. But, the real reason is that the industry claims that sex scenes with a condom is a turn off for viewers and many will not watch.
How do they know? How was this poll taken? It might be funny or sexy watching how the condom is working or not working, putting it on, etc. Many producers have stated they will relocate to other areas of the state to avoid the measure.
