America, America, It's Time!
For some reason I've been thinking a lot lately about the shortness of time. I read a statement that shook me to the core. "...I shudder to think what lies ahead for the West." Simple enough, but oh, so powerful.
God has done great works in this country lately. I think of the Response USA at Reliant Stadium in Texas as thousands came together to seek the face of God. Less than two months ago, America took part in the Call2Fall movement and The Great American Fast. Nearly one and a half million people have fallen on their spiritual faces to seek their God in the last several weeks, but still we are far from God. Could the earthquake and the hurricane that recently ravaged the east coast be just the beginning of God's judgment? I pray for God's mercy, just a little while longer--long enough for Him to reach those that will come to Him. I think of family and friends that do not know Christ and what lies ahead for them. I think of the glory of this great nation, built on the Truth of God's Word, and pray that He will call us back. If Scripture is true (and it is) I know the end must come. It did for Sodom and the similarities between Sodom and America are too great. God, would You spare America for 50 righteous? 40? 30?...10?
With what little or much time we have left, might we spend it all for the glory of God and the lost souls He died to save! As long as there is time, there is God. He can and He will work. But He has always worked through human instruments. There is no draft in God's Army, so who will volunteer?
Someone has to stand up and say, "God, I'll be broken for You! Brokenness is painful. Are you willing to face the pain for the cause of Christ? So many would answer "yes" until the pain of brokenness comes. Someone needs to stand up and say, "God, I'll sacrifice for You! God, I'll pay the price (and who knows how heavy a price tag might come with it)! Who would cry out from a heart filled with anguish, "God, God, let me be the instrument through which You work to stem the tide, to stand in the gap. God, please don't pass me by!"
I fear many may read this and respond with positive comments and thoughts, and perhaps even well meaning hearts. I am not asking for positive comments and thoughts. I am not asking for well meaning hearts. I am asking you to take your shoes off, for you stand on holy ground. I am asking you to go in the power and the Spirit of God and enter into battle to change America. America, America, it's time--time to quit talking about it and do it.
If I go it alone, I go it alone, but oh, won't you join me? Won't you have the faith, the courage, and the boldness of Joshua and enter the land--but first, you must enter the battle.
