Are you in a bubble
How about you?
I live in a bubble. I have noticed that it seems as if I am living in another world. It seems as if I am in an episode of The Twilight Zone.
The people around me are all on the wheel that hamsters run on in their cadges. They work so hard to pay for things they don’t need but are addicted to. No it is not drugs, it is material things. They have gone in dept up over their eyeballs just to get a house (which is really an apartment), a car, designer clothes and all the other trappings. Yet the longer they are on the wheel, the more stressed they are and much more miserable. They, like drug addicts, live to satisfy their lusts. In doing so, just like a drug addict, it never brings them pleasure. They seem confused as to why they are not happy.
It is heartbreaking to see, just think how God feels.
‘Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle, and always want more and more.’ José Mujica Uruguayan president who gives his wages to the poor
I one the other hand am very content, serene and joyful even though financially very poor. My contentment, serenity and joy comes from having a deep relationship with the big three: Jehovah our father, Jesus Christ, our king, savior and best friend and The Holy Spirit, our guidance councilor, healer and comforter.
Yet, they think I am strange because there is no desire for their empty pleasures in my heart. Why is it I sing joyful songs to the big three while going shopping or walking down the street (I don’t sing loud but they are confused as to my happiness)? Why do take pleasure in doing simple kind acts if there is nothing in it for me? There is though you know. There is the joy of watching peoples shocked reaction and gratitude and of knowing the act brings joy to my beloved big threes heart. Even though my bubble is because I live in a different world than they, it does not prevent me from reaching out to them.
It is not what is in your bank that makes you rich, rather it is what is in your heart. Joseph Anthony Green
“God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13 New Living Testament)
How about you? Do you find yourself living in a different world than the people around you? Are you completely disinterested in their pleasures? Do you find your sole source of delight in being in a relationship with the big three?
With the Lord's authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. But that isn't what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God--truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:17-25
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Abba ( God our father) for the awesome gift of the truly greatest wealth, the treasure of a loving, enriching and fulfilling relationship with You.I humbly ask Holy Spirit to guide me to those who are ready to being this relationship and to provide me with the tools necessary to open their eyes to Your love and grace.I give thank and ask in the name of the one who made all this possible, Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
