Are you willing to be smart?
He gives you life
Who knows you best?
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. James 4:13-17 New International Version.
Are you leaving Him out of it?
How is your future being planned today? Are you making plans without first asking for guidance from the best guidance councilor? He is of course, The Holy Spirit. Before committing to any plans do you first seek His guidance?
Think about who knows you best? Think about who know the whole story, things that are happening that you know nothing about, but He does. Who knows the future? Think about who loves you more than you could ever imagine and only wants what is best for you. Who is He? Is it not God, God, God?
Then why do you so foolishly leave Him out of your plans and brag about what you are going to do with your future?
Think of how many people would not get burned in the stock market if only they asked and followed God advice? Think of how much less divorces there would be if we followed Gods advice? Think of how many vacations were ruined because we refused to listen when God speaks?
No man is free who is a slave to the flesh.
Seneca
One time when I was tree planting I wanted to go to this one location for a contract, God wanted me to go in the exact opposite direction. I pig headedly went were I wanted to go and in effect told God to stuff it. Needless to say I couldn’t beg borrow or steal a position there with any company. Crushed I finally submitted to my Lords will and went where He originally wanted me to go in the first place. I hooked up with a small company. I was never treated better or made so much money in all my other contracts.
The LORD loves you...That is why the LORD rescued you with such a strong hand.Deuteronomy 7:8 New International Version
When sixteen, you know, young arrogant and stupid, I thought my life was all planned out. Get a job, get married, buy a home and have children (okay, being a man it would be my wife that would have the babies).
Oh how God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the angels must have laughed. Instead God has sent me all over the world serving Him.
It was not until fifty five that my self was crucified and the resurrected spirit was one dedicated only to my Jesus. It was the most painful experience of my life. On the other side of it though, I now have a deep love relationship with Jesus that by His grace will only continue to grow every day all the way into heaven. I cannot imagine living any other way. It is the most fulfilling, content and rewarding experience of my life.
"God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him" (Philippians 2:13 New Living Testament).
So, how about you? Are you willing to stop being stupid and start being smart? Are you willing to crucify self and allow the Holy loving and wise God to direct your paths? I know who holds the future, And I know who holds my hand; With God things don’t just happen—Everything by Him is planned. —A. Smith
Prayer: I am sorry Jehovah Rohi (the Lord my Sheppard) for being so arrogant, pig headed and stupid as to try to go my own way. I recognize You are the all wise and all loving who wants only what is best for me. I now dedicate my whole being to Your tender loving and caring hands. I pray this in the name of the greatest Sheppard, Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day
