Definition of the word Descend: which means to progress downward or to move from higher to lower level or to derive from a source, as an ancestor.

Mark chapter 1 - 10 : And Straightway coming up out of the water, be saw the heavens opened and the spirit like a dove descended upon him.

Luke chapter 3 - 22 : And the Holy ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him and a voice came from heaven, which said , thou art my beloved son : in thee IU am well pleased.

John chapter 1 - 32 : And John bare record saying I saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove and it abode upon him

Ephesians chapter 4 - 10 : He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.

After Jesus died upon the cross, he descended down to the pits of hell, but he ascended up to heaven, to sit on the right hand of God; the father in heaven. We can ascend on higher plains by living a godly life, or descend to lower level of wickedness by living an ungodly life. To descend downward is a place we all shall go after burial, but to have faith that one day we will ascend to heaven is a blessing from God.
