Definition of the word confession: To acknowledge or disclose one;s misdeed, or fault or sin, to declare.
Daniel chapter 9 -4 : aI prayed unto the lord Goo ,and made confession, and I said O Lord , the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments.
Romans chapter 10 -10 : For mwith the heart man believeth unto the righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
1 Timothy chapter 6 -13: I give charge in thought of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilat witnessed a good confession.
I've been told that confession is good for the soul, and I believe that to be a true statement, especially if we're confessing our sins to God. I don't believe in confessions to a priest, because he's a mere man; just like you and I, and I don't think he has the power to forgive us our sins, So, why should we confess our sins to a priest ; what's the purpose, if he can' t forgive us our sins. Our true confession ; are suppose to be unto God our father, that Can cleanse us of our sin and iniquities, man can't do that for us, only God can. King David was a man of man y true confessions, and when he confessed anything it was always to God, not the priest.
There was nowhere in the bible that he confessed his sins to men. I think we should we be like King David and confess our sins to God; whehting re we will always get a returned dividend on our confessions; and the priest want be able to do but listen. If we want forgiveness of our sins, the n we should go to and confess a 0ur sins and short comings to him , and God will make us whole.
