From Hope To Salvation/More
From Hope To Salvation/More!

We
all have some kind of hope we carry with us all of our lives, mostly in
the midst of crisis. Hope helps us to live now as Paul says in
Philippians 3:13-14. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have
taken hold of it. But one thing I do; Forgetting what is behind and
straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the
prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Our hope is in Christ so we can look ahead and leave the past behind us.
So our hope is only in Jesus, whom is the only way to Eternal Life.
See
Matthew 7:13-14. Jesus is the Gate to God's Salvation for us, in John
14:6 Jesus said " I am the way and the Truth and the Life, No one comes
to the Father except through me.
How do we receive Salvation?
Romans 10:9; If we
confess with our mouths,"Jesus is Lord," and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Knowing
about Jesus is not enough, He wants us to respond to His invitation,
See Luke 14:15-24. God wants all people to be saved 1 Timothy 2:4. God
loves the whole world and sent His Son to save sinners. Some will indeed
reject Christ see Matthew 25:31-46 but God loves us all and wants all
to come.
Jesus came to save us from our sins see Matthew 1:21. We
are saved by faith alone, nothing we have done or do will save us.
Jesus paid the price for us all. Also see Romans 3:28.
After we
are saved God says we must read our Bible's to grow, to learn and to
teach. There are nearly 7 billion people on earth, about a third claim
to be followers of the Bible. How many follow Christ's advice to read
that Book?
There are lots of scripture where Jesus had replied to
many, have you read and then He would go on to
say,(example) Matthew 21:16; Also see Matthew 12:3 and 5; In Matthew
21:42, Jesus said to them, "have you never read in the scriptures; "The
Stone the builders rejected has become the Capstone; the Lord has done
this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
So we see how Jesus asks us have we read the scriptures, or have you never read the scriptures?
In Luke 6:3, He asked "have you never read what David did.
Jesus Is asking really have we ever read? Have we?
To
end this devotion we will ask, are you walking (following) with Him?
Matthew 16:24 says we must deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow
Him. We should be willing to lose our lives for the sake of the gospel.
Remember, Jesus Is the gate to God's Salvation and He is the only way and the only One whom we pray to ...
Let's Pray
Precious Heavenly Father, as I come to you I empty myself of me, please hear my prayer O Lord.
I praise You O Lord
please have mercy on me, a sinner.
You have done the impossible, You
have saved us from a eternity without You, You are amazing and
merciful. Lord, guide our hearts and lives help us to put you first in
all we do. You God are our JOY in all we do, we praise You and give You
all the glory..In Jesus name amen.
