A Haiku - Family History
Not perhaps as exciting as finding a cattle rustler, a general, or a pirate, but you know your ancestors did something interesting.
A Haiku - Family History
I am who I am.
Just as ancestors made me.
Pay debts; just be me.
"We discover something about ourselves when we learn about our ancestors." Thomas S. Monson
I can remember the laborious job it was to construct a family tree of my ancestors from written records, and later from microfilm records.
Today's computers (not those of yesteryear) have made searching for our ancestors so much easier.
If you tried the old, and haven't tried the latest, you owe it to yourself and to them to give it another shot.
What's more, today's children are so computer savvy that they can show you how, and in the process become addicted to making the famiiy tree, sprout, blossom, and bear fruit!
When you have that "extra moment" to think about "who loved who to make you," a quick search starting with www.lds.org/familyhistorysearch will take you to any number of links to genealogical research to construct a tree house on the branches of your own family tree.
The happy hunting just got a lot happier!
