A Christian in the White House Will Do Nothing for the Church.
How Can I Put This Simplest Terms?
Note from the Writer and His Editor - ME!
Jesus is exactly where He needs to be: at the right hand of the Father as the Author & Finisher of our faith!
Jesus has no desire to be in the white house or anywhere else we deem as important. What he has done is sent us, his bride, the comforter - known as the Holy Spirit. We are the church of the last days and there will be no reprieve of the growing wickedness in this world. We are not to get a free pass when the majority of the true church worldwide is suffering for the name of Christ. Too many of us seem to think of the good old days of years past, when in actuality, American Christianity was speeding its way to being as worldly as the heathen. What is missing from many years past is that the truth is now much harder to be found within our churches, fellowships and sadly demonstrated by our supposed bible colleges and seminaries.
The game is afoot.
Do You Depend Upon Your Pastor to Read It for You?
Let Me See: Open Only In Case of Emergency?
I would wager to guess that most real Christians (American) have never read or heard the following scripture before, found in Isaiah 3:12. In verse 11, God states that the wicked will get what is coming to them but in verse 12, He lets us know that we are not off the hook for our slothful approach to living a truly faithful life.
"As for My people, children are their oppressors and women shall rule over them, O My people, they which lead thee (pastors, teachers, elders, etc.) cause thee to err, and destroy the Way of thy paths."
Did you notice that it is not the leaders to which God is speaking to but to each of us as individuals as being our responsibility. Where have all the godly men, fathers, husbands gone: they have left the spiritual education, leadership and care of their families to the professional holy men, while they have decided to pursue the American dream. They have left their wives to take charge of the finances, their children's futures and the bedroom: in many cases it may be too late to recover. We don't have to look very far to see this is the case in far too many homes, including our own. Neither the man or the woman are to be in charge but as co-heirs of His grace, equally responsible before God.
I wonder how many women within our assemblies today, think that it would be perfectly fine for a woman to become the president of our land; when God's Word states rather distinctly that it is a judgment of God against His people. You really think the woman's lib movement had no effect upon the women of the Church?
Personally, I think if Margaret thatcher had been an American, she would have made a great president!
Have You NOT Read? It Is Already Here!
Do We Think We Can Stem The Tide of God's Judgment?
A key verse for me when I began writing on Hubpages.com was 2 Peter 3:11 - "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness." Notice it did not say, the church or leadership, it said you, the reader of the scripture. This is a personal call, not a corporate call. Corporately it would be great if the majority agreed to take personal responsibility, but it must start with you and me.
Have you not read? 2 Timothy 3:12-13 "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." John 15:20 - "Remember the Word that I said unto you, the servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you..." This is a dominant theme of both the Gospels and the Epistles that the godly shall suffer persecution. Have you noticed that the American church has suffered very little persecution for a long time; that does not bode well as a credential of our corporate godliness! We have become transparent in so many ways that we have become no more than a minor irritation to society; that is going to change dramatically in the very near future.
What Are We To Do?
Do You Believe God Is In Control or NOT?
Per Romans 13:1 "...the powers that be are ordained of God." If you believe that He is truly sovereign, he or she that will be the new Commander-in-Chief will be what He has ordained, whether we like His choice or not. Remember Isaiah protested God's choice of Assyria as His rod against Israel until He put Isaiah in his place by reminding him of the lack of godliness of the Jewish people. There is nothing new under the sun and we are looking at a very similar circumstance as far as the American church is concerned.
We have big name Christian leaders touring the country, promoting the need for godly American leadership but what we need is for the bride of Christ clean our own house first by seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. As Jesus did not condemn the Roman government at any time during His earthly ministry but had hard words for the religious leadership; likewise we are not to entangle ourselves in the earthly but in that which is spiritual. It is funny that the only verse I could find to fit our situation is found in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 - that we should pray for our leaders - to come to Christ? - No! - "...that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
You do what you want but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I do plan on voting because if the one I vote for wins, I know that I was on God's side. Just kidding; but truly I am going to vote for a viable candidate that I believe will give the greatest opportunity to lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. If Christians were to only vote for true believers, we as a group probably would not have participated in any elections for over a 100 years or so. We have had many good leaders that acted upon religious principal but their personal lives did not demonstrate being born again. We have always voted for the lesser of two evils and at times the difference between the candidates was enormous and the choices turned out to be largely correct. The times they have changed but Jesus is the same today, as He was yesterday and will be forever!
God is going to clean out His Church, not by godly politics but by persecution of the godly. These are perilous days and we are going to need one another - desperately.
