Is There Any Hope left
Our Country is in turmoil. There are so many issues that we as Americans are facing today. Our country is at war on two fronts. Unemployment rates are extremely high. The economy is in the toilet. People are losing their homes. Kids are killing themselves with drugs and other risky behavior. The hatred that spews forth from many towards those who don't share the same political ideology has moved into the realm of the irrational. We have drug lords and illegal aliens coming across our borders and killing American's. Our children are being brutalized and murdered by evil predators that prey on the young. The list goes on and on.
America is not alone in this unsettling, frightening climate. Those across the world are dealing with calamities such as wars and earthquakes, Tsunamis and political unrest. They also have the same evils to contend with in their societies.
We are as in the day's of Noah. What is good is called evil and what is evil is called good. Yes these are treacherous times that we live in. How are we as a country going to survive? how are we as individuals going to stand against all the chaos that we are facing?
The answer to these questions is before us if we will just look. First as a nation America's Christians need to take a look at 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land., they have the answer. God will heal America! We just need to follow his instructions.
Now for us who as individuals are going through stressful times, God has an answer for us.
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17)
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)
You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress; my God in whom I trust." (Psalm 91:1-2)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Your father knows what you need before you ask him. So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today's trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:8, 31-34)
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19).
This is a time to acknowledge God and turn your face towards him. Prayer will be answered when you come before God humbly with faith and hope. Remember always, that there is power in praising God. For praise will bring you into his presence and you will be filled with the fullness of his joy and peace.
