Online Bible Verses about Wisdom - James Chapter 1:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5NIV
Wisdom is the topic of today’s discussion. Seems we can break intelligence down into distinct aspects/pieces which comprise the whole. Here are a few of them:
Analytic – In this category we have “brainiacs”; those who have an impressive problem solving nature and skill set(s). They can easily do calculus/physics problems, write complex software/code, draw and understand molecular structures…….etc.
Philosophers/Thinkers – They can ponder much upon observing the world around them, convey ideas clearly via written word.
Artists – They express ideas visually and with music. Their work prompts emotion and dreaming, which is why I love listening to their songs. To feel and, at times, escape. You might say that Philosphers/Thinkers and Artists are one in the same. Certainly they have overlap. Big overlap. Actually, all the traits discussed here have overlap, and are by no means part of a complete list.
Wisdom: The ability to detect, understand, implement and affect what is not tangible to the five senses.
My gut feel, that wisdom is the rarest aspect, the one which escapes us most frequently. The one which enables us to reason otherwise in the face of what the world beats us numb with. The ability to see what is really true, to escape the limitations of our flesh; an aspect of our intelligence that God imparts only upon our invitation. In possession of it, a person seen as simple in the world’s eye can be a genius in actuality.
Today I’m asking God for more wisdom, so He can show me more of what I previously did not see.
