Jesus Seen on a Sock, Nun Seen on a Bakery Bun
Shortly after Christmas in 2011, a woman in England spotted Jesus on a sock. Sarah Crane of Orphington, Kent was gathering laundry from the line when she noticed the image of a bearded man shown here.
Way to go, Jesus! Making laundry day a bit brighter.
Here are more apparitions of Jesus and other holy figures in unexpected places.
The Nun Bun
In Nashville I lived next to Bongo Java coffee shop. One day the employees noticed a cinnamon bun bearing the likeness of Mother Theresa. They dubbed it the Nun Bun and encased it in glass.
Some time later, Mother Theresa's representative mailed a request for the Nun Bun to be removed from display. That letter is now on display with the bun.
Jesus on Indian Bread
It seems that Jesus likes carbohydrates. He's appeared not only on countless slices of toast but also on naan.
The picture shown here was taken by David Howlett in Surrey, England.
Jesus Seen in a Frying Pan
In 2010 a young British man named Toby Elles drank a few pints. He then fell asleep while frying bacon. He awoke to find a smoking pan and an apparition of Jesus.
Said Elles, "If it wasn't for the smoke of the bacon burning this onto the pan, it could have been a very bad situation. Perhaps someone's looking over me."
Critical thinkers point out that any image could appear in foodstuffs. Here's a fun "apparition" of Cartman from South Park.
