Not a me generation
It’s every generation.
“A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25 New International Version).
I just read an article where today’s younger generation feels entitled. They are very self centered and spoiled.
News flash: That has been the same since Eve took the first bite out of the fruit so she could be a God unto herself.
I have found the most miserable people to be the stingiest and self centered people. I have also found the happiest people are also those who are the ones who are the most generous. It does not matter if they are young or old, man or woman or child, what nationality they are.
One thing I have noticed though is that people in many poor countries and communities are more generous than those in rich countries. That is because community is important to them and they need each other to survive.
How about you?
How generous are you?
Are you generous with your money? Do you give even the smallest amount to help the needy? Be wise not foolish though. Why not help the working poor or those who are going to school to improve their skills?
Are you generous with your time? There are many lonely seniors that would love someone to visit them, many hiking trails that depend upon volunteers for upkeep, children that need mentors.
How about your prayer life? Do you go on Christian prayer web sites and write down say even four people needing prayer and sincerely pray for them every morning? You can go on the site weekly or monthly. Then write them and inform them you are praying for them and offer them love and encouragement.
"God has given us two hands:- one to receive with and the other to give with. We are not cisterns made for hoarding; we are channels made for giving." Billy Graham
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) for al the wonderful blessing You have so graciously abundantly given me. Please always open my heart and mind to emulate my beloved Jesus and always have just as generous a heart with others. I ask this in His extravagant name. Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day
